Our Temple doors are opening to welcome the public when the 9th annual DOORS OPEN TORONTO celebration of architecture and history takes place throughout the city with a special focus on Toronto's Sacred Spaces and Sacred Circles. Your visit highlights will include volunteer guides to talk about the special features of a Buddhist shrine and the traditional Buddhist ritual instruments. Come visit us and browse through the outdoor bazaar. Inside the Riwoche Temple Store you will find a wonderful selection of items to support a meditative practice. For visitors a cafe style lunch plate will be available during the afternoon featuring the very delicious Tibetan "momo".

Tibetan Language and Musical Instruments Classes

Khenpo Pema – Khenpo Pema Wangdu graduated from His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche's shedra (monastic college) and completed his three-year retreat at His Holiness' monastery. Khenpo Pema is an excellent Umdze (chant leader) and instructor. He is teaching Tibetan phonetics based on the Medicine Buddha practice on Tuesdays from 6:45 pm to 7:15 pm. The cost is $7. Khenpo Pema is also teaching Tibetan language classes on Thursdays at 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm. The cost is $15 for these group classes.

Khenpo Lophel – Khenpo Lobsang Tshephel (Lophel) graduated from Dzongsar shedra (monastic college) and, as well as a scholar, is an excellent musician, especially the rgya-gling (Tibetan oboe). Khenpo Lophel is offering one-on-one instruction or group lessons. The cost is $15 for group lessons.

To join classes or to schedule private Tibetan language or music lessons, please contact Loretta Wong at lorettawong108@yahoo.com. All private classes are $20. Payments are made directly to the Khenpos.

Green Tara Puja at 9:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays.

Riwoche Temple is only open for practice during scheduled practice times. Only Tenpai Jindag may request to practice in the Temple at other times.

Join the Housekeeping Crew to clean the Temple after Green Tara Puja on Saturdays at 10:00 am.
Please help any Saturday when you have time.
